. Have you ever wanted a calendar to show next year’s date or add dates to your worksheet? Entering dates in Excel can be prone to errors. It can be confusing to users should the dates be formatted as mm/dd/yyyy or dd/mm/yy, mm-dd-yy or simply typed in as 19 April 2020? I have even had users enter dates in totally unconventional ways. A drop-down date picker will make this easier and more reliable. Adding a drop-down calendar into the Excel sheet can solve these problems. A drop-down calendar allows your users to fill the dates on a click of mouse. However, the inbuilt Excel date picker controls can be problematic as they are ActiveX controls and may not be available on every computer that will use your spreadsheet. If the Microsoft Date Picker control is not available in the More Controls list, it's most likely because of the following reasons: - You   are   using   the   64-bit   version   of   Office.   Unfortunately,   there   is   no   official   date   picker control for Office 64-bit. The only solution is using a third party calendar for Excel The   calendar   control   (mscomct2.ocx)   is   not   available   or   is   not   registered   on   your machine.   To   fix   this,   you   can   try   to   register   the   calendar   control.   This   is   a   complicated   task requiring   administrative   permissions   and   would   need   to   be   done   on   any   computer   that   will use your workbook if the control is missing. For   above   reasons   I   never   use   them   in   my   applications   and   have   created   several   non- ActiveX   alternatives.   I   am   making   some   of   them   available   for   free   download   for   you   to   adapt and use.
